Tang Hotpot, a modern Chinese restaurant focusing on recreating authentic Chinese hotpot culinary experience to NYC, is currently looking for several positions to join our team.

Since its soft opening in Nov 2017, Tang Hotpot has already been featured on New York Times, Eater, and Grub Street for its innovative take on Chinese Hotpot and the Asian restaurant dining scene.

Server

Requirements:

  • Must have at least 2 years of restaurant customer service experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Passion for excellence, superior service standards, and a positive/can do attitude
  • Ability to work under pressure with grace and ease
  • Evening and weekend availability is a requirement
  • Must have basic knowledge of Chinese cuisine and traditional ingredients
  • Food safety certificate will be considered a plus

Responsibilities: 

  • Greet diners when they arrive at the table
  • Menu merchandising
  • Take food /drink orders while present dishes in more details and make recommendations 
  • Ensure all orders are taken accuratly and brought to each table in a timely manner
  • Performing check-backs to make sure all diners needs are met
  • Pre-bussing
  • Offering/serving dessert
  • Handle difficult situations with a positive attitude
  • Issue bills and accept payment
  • Giving a fond farewell
  • Performing side-work duties
  • Work closely with restaurant management to immediately address all customer concerns should they arise to create the best dining experience

Requirements:

  • Past runner experience preferred

Responsibilities: 

  • Deliver food to guests in a knowledgeable, timely, and friendly manner 
  • Thorough understanding of all the ingredients of menu
  • Ability to read tickets and identify all items correctly
  • Introduce each dish to diners while placing items down on the table
  • Clear tables of finished dishes
  • Keep the runner station clean and organized
  • Check and restock kitchen printer roll

Requirements:

  • Strong customer service and excellent interpersonal skills required
  • Can navigate a fast-paced environment with grace; make good decisions on the fly
  • Evening and weekend availability is a requirement
  • Ability to frequently lift heavy objects
  • No bartending experience needed

Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages 
  • Interact with customers, take orders and serve snacks and drinks
  • Check customer identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age
  • Restock bar inventory and supplies
  • Maintain an accurate cash drawer throughout the night
  • Keep the bar area clean and neat

Host/Hostess

Requirements:

  • 1+ years customer service experience in the hospitality industry
  • Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities: 

  • Greet guests at the door as they walk in
  • Confirm reservations and check in/seat customers 
  • Assign and re-organize reservation seats prior to restaurant opening 
  • Follow up on reservations to confirm their arrivals 
  • Provide customers with accurate wait time estimates during busy periods
  • Treat all guests in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction
  • Clean, organize and stock menus at host station
  • Answer the phone re questions concerning reservations, the menu and restaurant
  • Notifies FOH & BOH reservation seats and customers before shift starts

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of expeditor experience
  • Flexible schedule
  • Attention to details with excellent organization and communcation skills
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment efficiently and effectively 
  • Must have basic knowledge of Chinese cuisines and ingredients

Responsibilities:

  • Pre-check & garnish all dishes before delivering to guests and ensure accuracy
  • Check tickets in a timely manner so no tickets are missed
  • The ability to read and organize tickets for FOH and BOH staff
  • Always ensure the accuracy of all dishes delivered to guests
  • Assist the BOH team with basic food prep, packaging food items, and organizing stations
